About Me
"If you're not afraid,
Of what you feel,
Then try and keep it simple,
Or try and keep it real.
And if being real,
Means you'll someday say goodbye.
Remember my friend,
Goodbyes not the end.
It's a circle you know,
And it starts with one hello."
(Randy Crawford)
I love nature and the simplicity that comes with it. Hanging out at the beach, walking or taking trips to no predetermined destinations, whilst revelling in the idyllic and pristine views that such destinations normally affords us, are heavenly to me.
It is my belief that life is not as complicated as we so oftentimes make it to be. I believe love encompasses every facet of life and the basic tenets of love is the only thing that can propel this world to being a much better place for us to live in.
"Pride, like laudanum and other poisonous medicines, are beneficial in small, though injurious in large quantities. No man who is not pleased with himself, even in a personal sense, can please others."
Frederick Saunders, librarian and essayist (1807-1902)
Music is a catharsis for me and my tastes are eclectic and my vast musical collection is a testament to that. I love every aspects of live music, whether it is pre-recorded or at a live staged show. I love watching old school music videos as well, which more often than not jolts my memories back to those days when music was all we had to keep us entertained and music videos were just in its nascent stages.
"He or she who reads will lead".
(Mike Henry)
The above quote is a favourite mantra of mine. Needless to say I have a voracious appetite for reading and I have no limitations or boundaries to what I may read. I bask in all the possibilities and avenues in which I can enhance my knowledge through reading and aided and abetted by the advent of the internet which has brought unlimited reading materials to one's fingertips and to one's convenience.
"The desire of knowledge, like the thirst of riches, increases ever with the acquisition of it".
Laurence Sterne, novelist and clergyman (1713-1768)
Words and their meanings fascinates me and I have the crazy idea or notion that I should be able to spell and know the meaning to every single word in the dictionary. I have nerdy and geeky tendencies, hence I am fascinated and flabbergasted by the vast ephemeral ways in which the world has advanced from a technological point of view and to even think what the world will be like technogically speaking in ten years from now is equally exciting and bewildering.
"The art of being wise is the art of knowing what to overlook".
William James, psychologist and philosopher (1842-1910)
I am a huge sports fan and like my love for music my choices are eclectic. I can be entrapped in the gripping, non stop action of a basketball or a lawn tennis match (go Roger, Pete you are still my boy and I love you Venus and Serena) to the boring characteristics of cricket game in which sometimes there are no results and this could be after five arduous days in the field.
Exercising and healthy eating plays significant roles in my day to day lifestyle. I prefer the inclusiveness and convenience of execercising from the comfort of home to the more open and public gyms. I am a huge protaganist of the elliptical machines because to me they affords us with the most complete work out for the body at the get go and especially if you are only using an elliptical machine.
"Like cars in amusement parks, our direction is often determined through collisions".
(Yahia Lababidi, Author)
I am hopelessly romantic and I am a very passionate person too. I am the epitome of the saying, "chivalry is not dead". A lady is special human being and as such should be treated that way no matter the occasion or the circumstances. I enjoy opening doors, removing a chair and all the special things that a woman so rightly deserves. I enjoy going out as much as staying in, cuddling on the couch with a good book, maybe the TV or definitely some music playing in the background.
"If tomorrow never comes will she know how much I loved her? Did I try in every way to show her every day that she's my only one? And if my time on earth were through and she must face the world without me is the love I gave her in the past gonna be enough to last if tomorrow never comes?"
(Ronan Keating)
It is very important to me that my partner and I are able to have a meaningful dialogue, regardless of what it may relates to. I do believe communication is the single most important aspect of a relationship. With an effective communication comes honesty and with honesty comes trust. Also important to me in sustaining and a long and healthy relationship, is the ability of couples to share in each other nuances or do things happily together. Although I am cognizant of the fact that couples do need a little time apart sometimes, fundamentally speaking, I think too much time apart can create a fissure in that special bond which is supposed to exist in a meaningful relationship.
"To the world you may be one person,
but to one person you are the world".
(Bill Wilson)
I am not asking for much, just a lady who will complement me and appreciate me for who I am. That being said, my profile in itself is just a microcosm of the embodiment of who I really represent and hopefully I have done enough to have piqued your interest. In essence though, you will only get to know me better if an oportunity should present itself from our rapport here, which hopefully would lead to a meeting in person. Call it a chit chit, meet and greet or a date, that is an opportunity I would embrace and look forward to and accept with humility.
"Somewhere there's someone who dreams of your smile,
and finds in your presence that life is worth while.
So when you are lonely, remember it's true
Somebody somewhere is thinking of you".
(K. Blackburn)
