I just moved to the South Hills/Robinson area and would love to meet someone to show me around! As a man from the North Hills, I am a stranger in a strange land on this side of the Ohio River...
I believe I am best described as a caring and compassionate man who puts his whole heart into everything he does. At heart, I am someone who strives to make the world around me a little bit brighter of a place. As a younger man I practiced corporate law, but then realized that the place I could really make the most difference was working with young people everyday. So two years ago I traded in my fancy lawyer life for a much simpler one as a high school history teacher. It is amazing how one's priorities change over the course of our lives, and this new career has allowed me to finally properly align mine. While I am extremely dedicated to my students and job, I at last have the time to build a life as well (which I sadly lacked in my old profession).
I just was hired to join the faculty of a school in southern Allegheny County this year, which necessitated my move. I absolutely love my new school and new job! As I build this new life, however, it has become painfully apparent that a major piece of this puzzle is missing. While family has always been very important to me, I always seemed to lack the time to put the proper effort into creating one of my own. Now, however, I am ready to correct this error and am looking to find that special woman who has eluded me.
I am blessed (and cursed) with an insatiable curiosity about most things. I am always searching for something new to learn, see or experience. I am an avid reader (mostly non-fiction) and love to travel whenever I can. I am not much for the outdoors these days, though I used to do a lot of camping. I am not a bar/club dweller at all, and prefer small gatherings to large events. I also am perfectly content to curl up on the couch for a good movie if I have the right company. I do enjoy viewing sports I have a connection to (Pirates, Steelers, Pens, and Fighting Irish) but I am not someone who has ESPN on 24/7 or watches every game on each weekend.
I have no "ideal type" of woman, but I imagine she will be kind, compassionate, and intellectually curious. I really do not care what a woman does for a living - but the good news is I can go from tailgate to black tie and anywhere in between with great ease! More than anything, I hope she will have a big heart and a smile that makes my heart melt. Could it be you? I hope we can find out
Coffee, dinner...anything except movies (afterall, sitting in the dark and not talking is not a great way to get to know someone new!).
