Conversation Starters (i.e. what you'd like to do on a first date...)
Forget first date crap: I'm a writer, 37, in recovery (NA), finishing my BS and then relocating to Rochester, NY, where I know ten million people from doing spoken word, hanging out at the OLD Bug Jar, working at Godiva's and at the Mission Cafe. I'm a feminist, I read like a maniac, have a 135 IQ, hate racists, born-again Christians and homophobics, have liberal politics, am very serious about staying clean, music and having a spirituality. My work has been published in the Village Voice, Stupid & Contagious, New Times, City, Yank the Chain, 13, Universal Buzz Radio, random and a bunch of other places I forget. I've been writing about Underground Rock and American pop culture since I was 21. I'm editing a collection of my indie published essays and fiction right now and when I'm not hanging out with my friends, writing or doing service work, I work at a homeless shelter for women. My favorite bands of all time are Husker Du, Nirvana, Big Star, the Beatles, Elvis Costello, P Funk, the Pretenders, Radiohead, Soul Coughing, Sly and the Family Stone, Matthew Sweet and the Kinks. My fave movies off the top of my head are Donnie Darko, Decline of Western Civilization, Empire Strikes Back, Shampoo, all Coen Bros, all Frank Capra, Sin City, and both X Men movies. I'm kind of intimidating (hah!), hilarious, sweet, and one of the best writers anywhere. I have a very serious mind, no idea what I want and am pretty much adored by most people who know me. That's about as much as I feel like saying. Peace. My My Space profile is http://www.my space.com/wolverine_girl
