About Me
Hmmm, where do I start? It has been a very exciting year for me full of all sorts of new things. Last year at this time I was living in Germany as happy as a clam... and then it happened. I received the call that my paper work was ready. I had been accepted by a company to work in Canada. I had been, at the time, waiting for this to happen for a few years. When it happened I have to admit I was both happy and confused about what to do next, so I went online and sold everything I didn't need, purchased a plane ticket and the rest is history.
Now you're probably wondering what this has to do with the price of flowers in Holland... I'm getting there. I have spent a great many hours over the last ten months learning English and it is still a work in progress. My written English is a bit problematic, but when I speak I find that people generally understand what I'm talking about.
I have often heard people people say, "all the good ones are taken". I hope that's not true. I'm not taken and I sure hope there is still someone out there for me to connect with. I'm 37 years old, I have a job and I don't have any children. What does this mean? I have no idea...
Lets see... I like to go out with friends and have fun from time to time. I enjoy sports and I have to say that I'm surprised, but I have really taken to hockey. My friends make me watch whenever we go out. The playoffs are on and as far as that goes, when I'm out with my friends, that's the only thing that's happening. I feel like there are important things going on in the world that I'm not going to hear about until mid way through the summer. oh well, probably less important than hockey. I'm afraid to pick a favorite team. Does that make me less of a man? I listen to my friends go back and forth with the insults and I'm not sure that my english is good enough to defend myself yet.
I feel like I can get along with most people and that my personality is fairly strong. I'm a good hearted person (i think) and I'm a hard worker. I have a hard time talking about myself so I think I'll stop right here.

First Date
I didn't grow up here, so I probably don't know the best places to go for a first date. Maybe go out for a drink and listen to some live music A place where it's quiet enough you can talk, but loud enough that pauses in conversation won't seem like a big pink elephant standing alone in a room... that's just odd.
If there are sparks on both ends that's great and if there are not... I like new people and things. It's always nice to meet new people.
Anyway, that's my idea of a first date. If you have a better idea let me know.
