About Me
Looking to meet a smart woman with a sense of humor. It would be nice if she had abilities and skills in areas that would compliment mine. I'm the creative type, always absorbed in songs. Maybe someone good at business, finances, management, & marketing might compliment what I bring to the team. I love nature walks! Occasionally camping too! Since arriving in California in the fall of 2008, I have camped at Lake Tahoe, Morro Bay, & Big Sur. Long live the parks!
I've been active in social justice causes since my first rude awakening over the Vietnam War. Reading JFK’s book, "Profiles in Courage", and hearing the spirited speeches of MLK, created a lot of idealism & hope in our hearts in those days. Those principles should continue to be celebrated by people of all ages!
You prefer people who care about what the world thinks of their country, especially after the revelations of lies to promote "pre-emptive wars" & to justify the US use of torture on people never even charged with a crime. You question authority! You want to clean up a cancerous environment. You are engaged in work for truth, peace, and justice. You may be "The Rebel Girl" that Joe Hill and Woody Guthrie sang about.
We do not like movies that are all about shoot-outs, high-speed chases, & special effects, or movies where the outcome is resolved by superior "good guy" violence. We like movies that have a complicated plot with lots of surprises, where the characters grow, learn to overcome difficulties, and, in the end, they succeed, they make a better world, or they fall in love with someone that they did not understand or like before going through the experience that brought them together. We also like intelligently made documentaries & we enjoy discussing them.
My folk singing hero, the late Phil Ochs, presented a philosophy to live by in his song called When I'm Gone: "I can't be laughin' at the lies when I'm gone...Can't question how, or when, or why, when I'm gone...Can't live proud enough to die when I'm gone... So I guess I'll have to do it while I'm here!"
We like to cook together, bump into each other in the kitchen, and laugh about it. You enjoy dance, romance, & ambiance! Dinner by candle-light is your way to relax when you have time to dine well. Sometimes I play acoustic guitar & serenade you as the love-light flickers in your eyes... Make it so!
