I've been retired and financially secure since 2004 and moved from S Florida to Cumming, Ga in Dec 09 following two of my 3 daughters who have also moved here.
I recently traded in my pick-up truck for a convertible and I'm looking forward to the cooler days perfect for a top down drive around the area. It would be nice to have someone ride shotgun to either show me around the area or help me discover new places together. I think a trip to a local winery/vineyard would be fun and I'm game for any suggestions for where to go and explore.
I've always enjoyed reading and recently bought a Nook since my bookcase is filling up.
I'm hoping to meet someone that has the time to devote to a relationship, retired would be nice but not necessary. A sense of humor is almost a requirement as I need the competition as I always love to joke around. Family time is important and holidays are always fun.
I've recently started trying different wines and would like to share that with someone who knows what the heck it's all about. Right now I'm picking different wines by how cool the labels look. Hey...you gotta start somewhere and monkeys and kangaroos could turn out to be a great discovery. Come help me out.
I don't sweat the small stuff and I think I'm really easy to get along with. The drama just isn't worth the effort. I'd rather spend the time having fun.
I've just gotten back into salt water aquariums and I'm setting up a 155 gal that keeps me busy.
So there you have it....give me a shout and we'll grab a cup of coffee or a glass of flying monkeys and see where it takes us.
*****I've had to redo my profile a bit to make it clearer as to how far from home I think meeting people will work. I'm really not into long distance relationships and would like to find someone that is within a reasonable distance so that we can get together without having to make a road trip each time. This site apparently gives you two choices. The entire US or 75 miles. I'm not even sure if 75 miles would not get old after a time. I'm just trying to be realistic about things. I'm just looking for the girl next door but the one next door to me is too young and married and I can't deal with the married part lol.*****
*****Another update......It seems from time to time religion has come into question when I'm conversing with others on this site. I've listed non-religious as that is one of the choices that is given but still I get questions about my beliefs. I guess you could classify me as agnostic if you had to put me into a category. I just live by the golden rule so to speak and find that I don't require any type of organized religion to keep myself content. If you require your potential mate to have a more structured religious life so be it. It's just not my thing but certainly don't mind others having their own beliefs. And for those that feel the need please don't try to "save me". Sorry if all this might seem a bit harsh but it's better to deal with it now if needed than to stumble across it later and find it to be a problem.

First Date
OK....why is it that some people list things like a walk on the beach for a first date.....it's a first date...I'm not taking you to the beach, it's a 3 hour drive. Or that walk in the woods so we can get to know each other....it's a first date...do you really want to go with a stranger into the woods? Can I bring my chainsaw and shovel? How about just a casual drink somewhere to see if we're not weird or strange? That works for me.
