Happiness is out there!
I started looking for someone to date on plenty of fish back in 2009, after graduating from college. I had broken up with my college boyfriend and was unsure how I was going to meet someone new. I'm definitely not a barfly, and I'm way too introverted to ask someone for a date while waiting in line at the grocery. I found Nick's profile and quickly saved it. I had a few others saved too, but he was the one I kept going back to. I must have read his profile 50 times! There was something about his face, too, that kept drawing me back. He messaged me, and I panicked! I had never done this before, and I wasn't sure how to go about it. Finally, after about two weeks, I messaged him back. (He later told me that he was on the verge of deleting his account. I was his last shot). After messaging back and forth awhile, we went on our first date. Sitting in the Barnes and Noble cafe and chatting for three hours, we both got a good feeling. It was so easy to talk to him! On the third date, I started to realize that this might be the man I was waiting for, the man I had been fervently praying for. He was fun, he was funny, he was handsome. We agreed on all of the truly big, important things but had enough different interests to keep things exciting. I couldn't believe it. After all my doubts, fears, and skepticism, it had really happened. I had found my soul mate. Four months after that first date, totally in love, we sat talking on his parent's couch (they weren't home). Nick was telling me how much he loved me, how grateful he was to have found me, and how he was a better man since I came into his life. I didn't suspect a thing! Before I knew it, he had rolled off the couch and onto one knee. He pulled out the most beautiful diamond and asked me to be his wife. Nick and I have been happily married to two and half years now, and all I can say to those still searching is that your happiness is out there! Your soul mate is out there! And plenty of fish can help you find what your heart is desperately seeking. Just be open, be honest about who you are and what you want. You may have to weed through a few bad dates and weird encounters (Nick sure did!) but don't give up. Someone out there is looking for you, too. :)
