One personal version of the Plenty of Fish extended family with Daddy leading into new feeding areas while Mommy is protectively watching over the young ones from behind
Many of you ladies had asked for a DANCE event. Well I hadn't scheduled an event until I could make sure this one out happened... a (rain or shine) super duper event consisting of a full 6 piece band , the Shakin Martinis (includes a sax player), that will play exclusively for us (7-10 pm) at the authentic Bowen's Island boathouse (also exclusively for us).
The advantage of the band playing just for us is because when going to a regular bar, bands don't usually start playing till 9/10 pm...by that time too late for some and many of us lost among the bar's regular crowd...too impersonal for many of our preferences.
Because I have friends in the Shakin Martinis band, they are doing this as a favor, but it would be nice if $3. is donated to the tip jar at the door to be split among it's six members. A touch more would be welcome if you can, as this band charges generous fees at various gigs, including weddings. Food and beverages (CASH ONLY) will also be for sale at the restaurant and bar (a rustic dock level bar will open exclusively for us for this event, and when you see it, you'll know why it's not set up for taking credit cards).
You guys know this dance event will have plenty of ladies, so I also expect a good turnout from you gents, but I know the ladies can dance without you if you get cold feet.
The views at Bowen's Island are stunningly breathtaking and the ambiance is timeless. From Charleston's News & Courier: "Robert Barber, whose family has owned this place for decades, was given a James Beard American Classic Award a few years ago. There's no other experience like it. No place. No where."
The last event we had in late July at the Stono Cafe had a great attendance of over 100 consisting of a good ratio of men and women. The social was well enjoyed judging by everyone's comments.
As usual, my intent is to host one local POF live group social every calendar month. This once again will bring yet another gorgeous sunset and/or one more pristine ocean/river/marsh view. And as usual, I made sure there’s a safe haven with a sizable roofed area to take cover if it rains. Also once more, as usual, I will remind you that POF is the only online dating site that I know of that allows live group socials; so you are meeting dozens of potential friends and acquaintances in a comfortable and safe setting.
If you've been contemplating a date, but have been hesitant, e-mail your "maybe" contact an invitation to this party. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. If he /she doesn't show, it's probably for the better...whew!

UPDATE: Like it or not, this will be a large event for this type of Charleston party. I have also invited others (mostly singles) that I know, and as of 2 1/2 hours before the event, a total of 180 (118 from POF) have RSVP'd. The weather forecast for the event is to be gorgeously sunny with no chance of rain and a bright almost full moon. In case you wish to remain outdoors over the open waters, I would consider bringing some extra clothing in the car just in case it gets breezy. Also for those without GPS systems, after the last traffic light before Folly Beach, watch for the sign to on the right to turn to Bowens Island. It is about a half mile past the Piggly Wiggly.
