I'm just looking for the person I can turn to when I'm lost and can't find my way. That seems to be happening a lot lately.
"Who are you to judge the life I live? I know I'm not perfect and I don't live to be, but before you start pointing fingers make sure your hands are clean." - Bob Marley (just bc I have a quote by Bob Marley doesn't mean I smoke weed or condone it.)
I like to work out, watch sports, rescue animals, and change myself into a better person so that hopefully one day I can help to change the world into a more positive place. So negative people need not apply.
I think that the world is a beautiful place, you just have to adjust your view every now and then. I always remind myself how to spell beautiful when I get stuck by spelling it out loud like Alfalfa does. "B-E-A-UTIFUL!"
A ship does not sail with yesterday's wind.
I'm currently fostering 3 kittens who are around 5-6 wks old (June, J.R., and Tiny- we havent decided on his name yet but its between Johnny, Carter, Cash, Folsom, and Memphis), and I've had them since they were 3wks. I'm also fostering their mom, dad (named Sinatra), and older sister. Along with another kitten who is about a yr old or so, his name is Bond.
Literally on the 8th of March, I had 4, 1-2wk old kittens brought to my door and I rescued them, and am now fostering them as well!
I also have lots of pets, (don't worry I'm not some crazy animal hoarder, I just love animals and have a lot of love to give :) )
Cats are: Buddy, China, Kid, Chance (both Kid and Chance are Maine Coons), the 3 kittens, their mom, older sister, and Sinatra. All of my cats are rescues.
Dog: a purebred German Shepherd who is 12 yrs old and I've had since the day she was born, named Vanilla. (My late Grandpa bred her parents Lucky and Lobo and they produced 11 living puppies out of a 15 yield litter. And he gave me pick of the litter, and I chose her.)
A rabbit named Thumper (original I know)
A guinea pig named Peanut (also a rescue)
A rat named Jack (his brother Gus died, their names come from Cinderella- Disney version)
And a hamster named Tank (also a rescue).
I've also been working on a Bill to propose to Congress. The Bill is geared toward govt subsidized emergency healthcare for animals. I came up with the idea after my best friend had found a kitten who had apparently been caught in a car engine. He was very badly injured and sick with a bad upper respiratory infection. Neither of us had the money on us or the ability to overdraft out bank accts to pay for emergency care. With his condition the best (and only) recommendation was that he be put down to end his suffering- which we had to do unfortunately. So because of this, and other instances where I've witnessed people putting themselves into insurmountable debt to save their animals lives, I got the idea for my Bill. It will involve asking the govt to budget for emergency animal care.
If a person does not have insurance, has no money, and needs to be seen in the ER, picked up by an ambulance, and/or stay in the hospital for an extended amt of time, the govt has money set aside (that we pay taxes to have), to cover these costs as much as possible.
So I don't see why animals don't deserve that same right. They are the most honest and innocent creatures on the planet. They do not know hatred, racism, or conduct random acts of wickedness, violence, or terrorism. All they know is unconditional love for their people.
So how can we just stand by and allow our companions to suffer, just because we are low on cash?
That's the basic base of my Bill so far.
I love to dance, sing, hike, ride horses, cook, and I even enjoy cleaning at times.
